Annual Veterans Cruise

The 2017 Veterans Cruise will take place over two days with up to 20 Little Ships based at Thames Motor Yacht Club, Hampton Court. Veterans from the Korean War, the Falklands, war widows and others will join the Little Ships on Saturday. On Sunday the Little Ships will carry Veterans from WWII including Dunkirk Veterans, Normandy Veterans, Arctic convoy Veterans, Costal Forces Veterans and – for the first time ever – ladies who served in the WRENS during WWII.

'DUNKIRK' the Movie

'Dunkirk' will be released in theatres on July 21, 2017. Director Christopher Nolan has assembled a number of notable names for his upcoming (and first) war movie, chief among them being Kenneth Branagh, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Mark Rylance and Harry Styles.

Also starring a number of the Association's Little Ships including Hilfranor, Nyula, Elvin, Papillon, MTB102, Caronia, Mary Jane, Endeavour, New Britannic, Mimosa, RIIS I and Princess Elizabeth.

Thames Traditional Boat Festival Friday 14th - Sunday 16th July, Fawley Meadows, Henley - on - Thames

17 Little Ships are registered to attend this not-to-be -missed event on the banks of the River Thames at Henley. Little Ships will sail past on each day of the Festival at a time to be confirmed in the programme. However it is expected that the sail past will be mid afternoon.

The Association is particularly pleased to welcome 'Anne' and 'Deenar' after lengthy restoration.

Commemorative Cruise to Chatham May 26th to May 29th, 2017

The 2017 Commemorative Cruise will be held at Chatham on the River Medway. Little Ships will arrive from Thursday 25th May and depart by Tuesday 30th May.
A Commemorative Supper will be held on Saturday 27th at Medway Yacht Club.

A quay side Commemorative Service will be held on Sunday 28th at 11.00 alongside the Little Ships. All are welcome.

Thames Traditional Boat Festival 16/17 July 2016

A popular event with many Association skippers and crews. 17 Little Ships are expected to attend.

The sailing programme for the Little Ships is as follows:

There is an ADLS sail past at 16.00.

Sat 16th
10.55 Waterloo Band March from lower meadow to ADLS moorings
11.00 Veterans Parade in from the bridge to ADLS moorings
11.10 Band play the salute

15.20 ADLS sail past
15.40 BBMF, Spitfire & Hurricane

Sun17th
11.00 Veterans Parade with Cadet band to ADLS moorings

Little Ships visit the Royal Victoria Docks

VISIT TO BE CURTAILED

Due to the winds forecast for Monday and Tuesday in the Thames estuary it has been decide that the Little Ships will depart the Royal Dock around 11am on Sunday morning. This means the events scheduled for Sunday will have to be cancelled. This situation is very much regretted but as with all things nautical we are all in the hands of the 'weather gods'!

Veterans Cruise

As in the past several years the Veterans Cruise will take place over two days and be based out of Thames Motor Yacht Club.

Saturday 5th September sees the Little Ships departing TMYC close to Hampton Court at 1300 with Veterans from the Korean and Falklands campaigns along with War Widows and members of the Not Forgotten Association. The Little Ships will pass through the Barge Lock at Teddington around 1400 and head down stream to the Richmond barrier where they will turn to head back to TMYC.

Commemorative Cruise 2014 - Chatham, Kent

The 2014 Commemorative Cruise will see the Little Ships visiting Chatham on the River Medway. Over 20 Little Ships are expected to attend from the Medway, Thames, South and East Coast.

Little Ships will be mooring on the Home & Communities agency (HCA) pontoon which is located in Basin 1 by the HMS Chatham Bridge, access to the pontoon will be through MDL Chatham Maritime Marina lock on River Medway.

The programme of event will be as follows:

Friday 23rd/Saturday 24th - Dunkirk Little Ships arrive in Chatham
Saturday 24th - Free day
