I can remember many happy summers working on the Southern Queen with my Grandfather, Frank Pender, either taking trippers to the islands, mackeral fishing or gig racing. I also had the delight of watching Harold Wilson fall between two boats as he made his way across the raft of pleasure boats tied up at the quay. In a time of so many changes, it is nice to see something being kept, preserved and so fondly remembered.
