I have always had an interest in the Dunkirk evacuation as my grandfather was serving with the Gloucestershire Regiment in Northern France in May 1940. His battalion was ordered to stand and fight at Casel in order to help the bulk of the army retreat to Dunkirk. His battalion was overrun and he was taken prisoner. He served as a POW until the end of the war.

My question is, are there any good historical books on the Dunkirk little ships that deal with the actual individual experiences of the little ships and their crews rather than books that generalise the overall events of the evacuation.

Best regards
