I expect many readers here will be interested to hear that Gallions Reach, a Dunkirk veteran, has been found. Sadly, she is half-sunk in Corfu harbour. Pictures can be seen at

I understand Gallions Reach also served during D-Day and it is very sad that she is now just rusting away. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be done to salavge her? Any excentric billionaires among the readership ;-)
My father aged 20 Lieutenant RN was the officer coordinating five mudhoppers including Gallions Reach (which my father was on) and Lady Southborough of the Tilbury Contracting & Dredging Co. Ltd. that took part in the evacuation. I know that my father was assigned to this movement on the evening of 30 May and on 31 May the hoppers were taking off men at Dunkirk.
I would be grateful for any information on Gallions Reach's Dunkirk activites, if anyone has any.
