Veterans Cruise

As in the past several years the Veterans Cruise will take place over two days and be based out of Thames Motor Yacht Club.

Saturday 5th September sees the Little Ships departing TMYC close to Hampton Court at 1300 with Veterans from the Korean and Falklands campaigns along with War Widows and members of the Not Forgotten Association. The Little Ships will pass through the Barge Lock at Teddington around 1400 and head down stream to the Richmond barrier where they will turn to head back to TMYC.

On Sunday 6th September 20 Little Ships that took part in the evacuation of Dunkirk in 1940 will travel from Hampton Court to Weybridge Mariners Club on Shepperton Lock Island. The vessels will be carrying Veterans of WWII including some of the few remaining Dunkirk Veterans, Far East Prisoners of War, Arctic Convoy, Bomber Command, Normandy Veterans and Chelsea Pensioners.
The Little Ships will leave Hampton Court at 10am and pass through Molesey Lock around 11am, Sunbury Lock around midday arriving at Weybridge Mariners Club about 12.45pm. The Little Ships - all privately owned and maintained - will be manned by newly recruited Royal Navy Ratings from HMS COLLINGWOOD signifying the link with the brave Little Ships that goes back 75 years this year. Come along and greet the Veterans and see this wonderful example of Britain's heritage and the Dunkirk Spirit.
