The Royal Harbour History Festival June 2018

The Royal Harbour History Festival 2018 will be a three day event on Friday 15th – Sunday 17th June 2018, primarily based in Ramsgate, Kent.
The Association has been invited to support this event and it is anticipated that several Little Ships will attend.

Highlights include the UK’s first ever Sea Tattoo and a special Royal Navy vs. Royal Harbour Cricket Match played on the infamous Goodwin Sands four miles out at sea.

Commemorative Cruise 2018

In 2018 the Little Ships will return to Ipswich for the annual Commemorative Cruise.

Oostende voor Anker

In 2018 Oostende voor Anker (Ostend at Anchor) will commemorate the second Ostend Raid (see below). In the past few years the Ostend festival has coincided with the Commemorative Cruise so it has not been possible to support this popular event. As the selected dates for 2018 do not clash with the Commemorative Cruise it is hoped that several Little Ships will be able to attend.

Annual Veterans Cruise

The 2017 Veterans Cruise will take place over two days with up to 20 Little Ships based at Thames Motor Yacht Club, Hampton Court. Veterans from the Korean War, the Falklands, war widows and others will join the Little Ships on Saturday. On Sunday the Little Ships will carry Veterans from WWII including Dunkirk Veterans, Normandy Veterans, Arctic convoy Veterans, Costal Forces Veterans and – for the first time ever – ladies who served in the WRENS during WWII.

Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta 24th - 25th - 26th August 2017

The Regatta Committee has invited the Association to join the Dartmouth Royal Regatta on the River Dart. Events will include an air display a review of classic boats and a steam rally. Further details at http://www.dartmouthregatta.co.uk/ .

'DUNKIRK' the Movie

'Dunkirk' will be released in theatres on July 21, 2017. Director Christopher Nolan has assembled a number of notable names for his upcoming (and first) war movie, chief among them being Kenneth Branagh, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Mark Rylance and Harry Styles.

Also starring a number of the Association's Little Ships including Hilfranor, Nyula, Elvin, Papillon, MTB102, Caronia, Mary Jane, Endeavour, New Britannic, Mimosa, RIIS I and Princess Elizabeth.

Thames Traditional Boat Festival Friday 14th - Sunday 16th July, Fawley Meadows, Henley - on - Thames

17 Little Ships are registered to attend this not-to-be -missed event on the banks of the River Thames at Henley. Little Ships will sail past on each day of the Festival at a time to be confirmed in the programme. However it is expected that the sail past will be mid afternoon.

The Association is particularly pleased to welcome 'Anne' and 'Deenar' after lengthy restoration.

Association Annual General Meeting Friday 3rd March 2107

Members and Associates are invited to the Association AGM to be held at the The Naval Club, 38 Hill Street, Mayfair, London. W1J 5NS on Friday 3rd March, 1930hrs for 2000.
Minutes of the last AGM and the agenda will be circulated to Members prior to the meeting.

In common with other London Clubs a dress code is maintained in the public rooms. Although a jacket and tie is no longer compulsory jeans and other such 'casual' attire are not permitted.
