Lijns is a substantial steel-hulled motor yacht built and well fitted out by de Vries Lentsch in Holland just before World War II.

Although the records show that she took part in the evacuation of Dunkirk, nothing is known about her precise history at that time - or indeed before the war.

Being substantially built, she has survived many years of neglect since the war and a number of owners have tried to restore her. For some time she lay under tarpaulins at Beacon Boat Yard at Borstal on the river Medway and Stephen Peel, who owned her then, fitted two reconditioned BMC Commodore diesels as well as new hydraulic steering gear.

Now she has been bought by Morris Tolhurst.
